Up for sale is a beautiful early to mid 20th century watercolor by the talented Dutch born artist Salomon van Abbe (1883 - 1955). This impressionist style watercolor painting depicts a mountainous landscape with a large plateau in the center background. Double matted and housed in what appears its original gold wood frame measuring 16 x 21 1/4 inches the watercolor measures 10 1/2 x 16 inches and is unsigned. Abbes works outside of his commercial illustrations are very rare to find making this painting a wonderful example! The condition of the painting shows some discoloration and some minor creases/wrinkles around its top and right perimeter.
