Stradivarius Copy of 1732 Violin by Rothenburg Made in Germany.Here is a nice vintage student sized violin for your buying consideration.Would make a great gift or keep for yourself!

This violin, and case are being offered to you at a price below what you would see in a fine luthier shop or high end auction house.We have been selling fine items out of our home for over 35 years. We are therefore better positioned to control our acquisition costs, keep commission costs low (if applicable), and finally, we dont have the overhead that the luthier shops and higher end auction houses have to pass on to their clients.

This violin has a label in it that says Rothenber Violin, Made from Selected Material, Copy of 1732 Stradavarious.

Beautiful graining and finish on this violin The pictures do not do justice to the beauty of this violin. The violin has a one piece belly and one piece back. Nice golden brownish colored stain on the of the entire violin. Some very minor finish loss over the years to the body of the violin. Some markings by where the bridge legs sit on the belly. We see no repairs to the body of the violin, the neck or the scroll to report to you. Some minor finish loss along the edges, belly, and on the back. Fingerboard appears to be made of a softer wood, not ebony.

Nice purfling (painted on), f hole, and scroll work. The corner blocks are in place. The beaks look good. The beaks and the sides of the violin show some minor finish loss. The fingerboard has no ridging that would impede string play. There are no tuning pegs, strings, bridge, chin rest, or end peg with this violin. The soundboard and back are tightly glued to the sides, no separations to report. The tuner box is intact, no cracks, splits or repairs.

The violin will be shipped in an older case we have laying around just to protect your violin during shipping. Nothing special here with the case.

The sound post is up inside the violin body. No guarantee it will stay in position while being shipped to you. Nice one piece belly and back on this fiddle. Think the flaming of the wood is not graining, but how the wood was finished to give it that look. We see no cracks or repairs on it to report. The backs finish has a translucent look to it. The purfling is painted on, not inlay.

The violin is 23-1/8" long, by 8=3/8" across at the lower bout and 6.75" across at the upper bout. The violin body is 13-7/8" long.

This musical instrument is not represented to be in playing condition. There may need to be refurbishing done to make this instrument playable again. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures.
