Signed by the author, inscribed to the recto of the front free endpaper, To Mrs Low, from the author, August 1898.

A collection of short stories and sketches by Lord Moncreiff of Tulliebole. A selection of these stories first appeared in the Blackwood magazine from 1878-1887.

These stories explore the monotony of life everything from train rides to sport. Lord Moncreiff observes the lives of the upper classes and by doing so he creates a work of social commentary.


CONDITION

Bound in a half morocco binding with marbled paper to the boards. Externally, with rubbing to the joints, boards and spine resulting in loss. Internally firmly bound. Contemporary gift inscription to the first leaf. Pages bright and clean with the odd spot.
